Default Attributed WW1 8th Bn E Lancs Group

A small group of badges and insignia that are attributed to 36595 Cpl T Leaver 8th Bn East Lancs commissioned in 1918 into the Lancashire Fusiliers serving into 1919 with the Army of Occupation.

Smile East Lancs/Lancs Fusiliers

A superb group of what I would consider original items to one man.

However, if the East Lancashire cap badge was originally worn by this man it knocks the theory of the vertical shank being brazed half way down on all East Lancashire cap badges during the Great War.

Rob,

I have no doubt that it was his cap badge it has the remains of his name scratched on the slider.

Hi Mark, what a great grouping, and yes definitely an intriguing question on the slider position on the cap badge !

I put up a display of what I described as Great War Infantry badges with an East Lancashire cap badge such as this one on the forum and was told that it was not a Great War issue badge, this evidence proves otherwise.

Outstanding group Mark, the likes of which I could never hope to see this side of the pond.
