Default 3rd Btn Royal Gurkha Rifles

The 3rd Btn Royal Gurkha Rifles were "reformed" on the 31 January 2020 - so the newest battalion in the British Army. I've just received a few of the new bush hat badges - as far as I know it's the only "unique" insignia the battalion has - ( all other insignia is the same as the RGR ) . I thought I'd share it with you and if anyone's interested in acquiring one send me a PM. ( £6 inc P&P )

When is the embroidered MTP version going to appear?

Seems to follow the design of the 1st and 2nd Battalion floppy hat badges.

It's identical to the 1st and 2nd Btn patterns which makes sense. Also apologies for posting this under Cavalry - I think my computer has a virus!! Perhaps Mike could move the post?

Gents for interests sake, I pulled this out of the £1 box a couple of years ago at War & Peace ( I think). It's very small size and is I believe 1st Bn RGR but is a different make to the thin sheer woven badges seen for 2nd and 3rd Bn's. It appears to be a woven cloth with a printed character '1'. The colours have probably faded.

Unless it isnt RGR at all . . . ?

Hi Sean - nice find - I think it is 1RGR ( albeit well washed ) - I have an example as well as the an example of the 1RGR which matches the 2RGR and 3RGR - I think that the woven one maybe an earlier example ?

I'd say they were ident, taking into account mine on the Bush hat has faded the colours to odd shades. Just need a regular 1st Bn to complete that little set.

Hera are examples of earlier 1 RGR and 2 RGR floppy hat badges.
