Default Help with a road sign meaning “armoured battalion?”

Hello all!

I’ve had this since 2016 when I bought it in a market in Split Croatia.

the only things I know about it is it was found in Slovenia, it’s apparently German ww2 and based on my research a battalion armoured(?) sign.

I’m not sure what the numbers mean beyond guessing 1st batallion armoured 33 something.

My only concern is I know there was a lot of activity in this area during the Balkan wars in the 90’s so I’m sure there were a lot of signs like this kicking around.

Any thoughts at all would be appreciated.

I would say post-War NATO - the Wehrmacht tactical markings of WW2 were very different in style.

In the post-War Bundeswehr- Panzerbataillon 33 was based in Neustadt am Rubenberge and formed part of Panzerlehrbrigade 9.

1st Company, 33rd Armoured Battalion.
Got it the wrong way round before. Should have checked my NATO APP6.

Thanks!
Most of the clues looking into the meaning led me to believe it was likely post war so thanks for the info!

Definitely postwar - Bundeswehr - a 'Wegweiser' for directing troops to a specific location. In this instance the markings are for the 1st company of the 33 armoured (tank) battalion:

1.Kompanie PanzerBataillon 33.
