I have a reference work on Indonesia Special Force insignia. Will look up the badge you show with the trident. You may be correct on it being Marine Jack

Many years ago, when Aldershot still contained Depot the Parachute Regt, a Dakota, RHQ, a couple of Battalions and the Airborne Forces Museum (all now gone), there was a move to get an example of every para wing that was being worn across the world mounted on a large board in the museum. There were dozens from countries like NZ, West Germany, Oman, US, India, Zimbabwe and examples from Warsaw Pact countries too. New Toms could wander in and ID what the wing was that their corporal was wearing over his right pocket on his para smock.
Nowadays I s'pose they'd just google it. I wonder what happened to all those wings? Ian H (who spent about 6 weekends cataloging every badge in said museum) |

Great thread, I hope it keeps going. A reminder of my youth.
Ian, similar to what you saw at Aldershot, as a young sergeant I assembled a collection of foreign para qualification badges and displayed them in our barracks (B/2/504th PIR) at Fort Bragg. The goal was to show at least one insignia from every country that had airborne forces and their own badge. The display was a magnet for first sergeants and sergeants major from other companies and battalions on post -- they would check out the wings, and call out as many as they could identify. Occasionally one of the visitors would ask me if I could locate for them a particular wing they had earned in the past (a question to which the only correct answer was, "Yes sergeant major"). I still have the collection, photos attached. Still looking for a wing from Burundi and Tajikistan! Regards, Donovan

Henry Duboras military surplus in Aldershot had or still has a couple of boards displayed in the shop with if not an example of every para wing in the world most of them.
