Question Border Regiment Helmet Plate

I'm puzzled by this helmet plate. Both parts appear original but don't seem to fit together properly. Are these from two different eras?

Many thanks

It seems the three loops on the HPC are affixed too low.
Are there HPC's with the South Africa battle honours? If so, the post 1902 KC helmet plate and pre 1905 no South Africa battle honours HPC combination at least was very short lived.

Rgds, Thomas

Hello Thomas,

No South Africa Battle honours. So this dates from 1902 to 1905. That's very interesting. Many thanks for that information.

As for the fitting I guess that's a simple manufacturing error then.

Many thanks

James
