Hello
My name is Mike and I live in Central Ontario, Canada. I inherited my Grandfather's "collection" of cap and collar badges and shoulder titles. I say "collection" because he never displayed them...they were in jars in his work shop having been won in card games in the 1940's.
He lied about his age in WW1, was caught and as a result never saw active duty. During WW2 he worked at Connaught Labs in north Toronto in the blood program. I've enjoyed researching the badges and identifying them. I plan on donating some to historical societies in Ontario that have the means to display them, making a display of some of the unique ones for myself to enjoy and to be honest, sell some to help supplement my income as I recover from surgery and prepare for the next one. Regards, Mike |

Mike, Don’t let them go until you really know their value. And beware the Shysters who will endeavour to convince you, “Well, they’re pretty well common or garden, only worth a couple of bucks apiece” or, “Well, most are worn and not really collectors pieces, Give you $75 for the lot!”. If you donate them, get a tax receipt for them (on an agreed price beforehand!). No tax receipt? Don’t give away or donate. Above all, get two or three opinions FIRST.! You might try taking some pics and showing some of them on your next or subsequent posts. Best regards, D.J.
