Question Single lug collar badges

I believe that single lug collar badges came about in the 1950's, does anyone have an exact date for when this money saving exercise first started?

A new type of rear fastening was ordered on 1st March 1951 for all collar badges. This comprised the adoption of a single flat loop, with a backing plate behind.[1]
