Default Ludlow RTR badge

Hi,

I have spotted this on eBay, 383598648463 an officers silver Ludlow RTR badge. Has anyone seen this particular Ludlow stamp on any other badges being in a lozenge not just the Ludlow name stamped like all of the ones I’ve seen in other forum posts on other Ludlow badges?

Thanks in advance
Rob

Sorry, I can't help - but here is a clickable link to make things easier to access the eBay posting.

Thirty six quid, as cheap as chips and a bobby dazzler me thinks, it's worth rather more, get bidding and good luck.

Don`t like that at all . Seriously poor quality for an officers badge. Why the ugly copper lugs when most silver officers badges have really sturdy silver lugs, Also why is it marked stirling. If it was made in Britain for wear by a British officer it should be hallmarked?. Stirling is usually on imported silver items or those for export. wouldn`t waste my money on it.This is a hallmarked one.

I take you are not familiar with badges from this manufacturer, their badges were actually of quite good quality compared with some others, copper wire loops were normal, I would not say they were ugly, this company normally marked it's silver badges Sterling as in this case, rather than using a set of hallmarks, but, never stirling.
I certainly do not think buying it would constitute a waste of money, given it's relative scarcity, in particular, when compared with hallmarked examples by Gaunt.

When you say, if it was made in Britain and so on, do you think the badge is spurious?
