It's always nice to see a honest original example of the classic Wilkinson First Pattern F-S Fighting Knife. And complete with it's original and correct scabbard too.

If you wish to read more on this topic I will add a link below.

Hello Roy,

I've had a nosey at your website and it's very interesting, it's strange that in 30 years of collecting medals and militaria I've acquired a few fighting knifes, but this is the only first pattern I've ever owned, and I like it

All the best dave

Default Commando patches.

Hi Dave,I would imagine by now you have had every collector and their dog trying to buy these rare patches.Do your self a favour and get them put with a reputable militaria auction site to get exactly what they are worth. Please let me know where they will be listed as I would be very interested in bidding.
Good luck and best regards,Steve.

Whilst I agreed with the sentiment, the vendor would give away 15-20% to the auction house!
Oh then of course the buyer gives them another 15-20%
That's reputable auction houses for you!!

Try 20% plus VAT so say on a £3000 lot that’s nearly £720 leaving you with £2280!

Why is everyone so focused on where and how to sell these badges?

the owner has not at any point said they are for sale.

I think he may just enjoy owning them just as I would.

regards

Hello Simon,

Yes you are correct, I originally asked if they were original and are they common or rare, because I genuinely didn't know. However I suspected they were original but I wanted to be sure.

I've had loads of private messages from Collectors wanted to buy them, I guess as I'm a medal collector myself I know what it's like when I see a group of medals I want, So I cant blame collectors for trying.

I have no plans to part with them, I hope to get the medals at some point to go with the badges and the dagger.
