Default Cape Town Highlanders

Hi South African members,
Comments on this badge would be welcome.
Is it WW2 period? Rear of badge appears white metal but obverse doesn't.
Thanks,
John

Looks like a WWII Egyptian casting. Some of them had a sort of nickel wash on them.
Cheers,
Alex

Thank you for your assessment, Alex.
For a casting the detail on back is good.
Cheers,
John

Hi Tinto
Yes, it is better than the usual but as far as I know they never had a one-piece badge and these were all campaign issue. The yellow brass front looks just like others I have seen.
Cheers,
Alex
