I also have 5 different colour backing Officers Bullion Badges.
Here is my collection of RLC bullion/cloth badges

really helpful posts for this badge thank you. Regarding the anodised versions - are they made by anyone other than Toye? (TKS). I'm sure I have seen a London Badge and Button version in A/A but I could be wrong.

Now, I have an all silver version of the RLC cap badge in A/A. It is the same design as the RLC we know but the dimensions seem different and the star at the rear of the badge is not as 'sharp' in relief as is usually seen. There is no makers name on the slider. I will try and post an image at the weekend.

Any ideas anyone?

Regards all

Bess
Attached images of the silver anodised alluminium RLC cap badge (with the regular TKS gold version for comparison).

The slider on the silver version appears to be that of a TKS type but without the makers mark. The back of the two part badge does not have a crown outline and behind the RAOC shield in the centre it has a cross hatched plain.

Trial pattern?

Sorry for the picture quality, but I was sent these images today of what was reported as an early FIRMIN (marked) produced badge in Gold/Silver with a raised Ordnance shield with plain back same as the All Silver example bess55 illustrates! which looks very similar?

Mike,
very interesting, thank you. Well it would appear that mine (ours) is an early (albeit unmarked) FIRMIN example. Quite why its all silver I have no idea. However it certainly appears to be of a similar construction.

If anyone has any info on this badge/pattern, I would be all ears.

Kind regards

Bess
