King's African Rifle Buttons ID

Hi folks,

I got these, what I think are KAR buttons today and was wondering if anyone could give me a rough date for them. They appear to be a mixture of bakelite or leather construction. Never seen anything like them before.

Still making up my mind about keeping them, if I don't I'll put them up on here for trade.

Look forward to some comments.
