What were these British buttons used for ??

Picked these Buttons up a while back and was wondering what they were uned for . Most are 17mm and are real buttons with the clips soldered on . The clip has a rather stiff spring . I was thinking for veterans . All have the clips open the same direction . There are 11 different and 31 total . I'm not sure if I have them ID'ed right , and I was not able to find 4 of them .

I think the last one is WWI Army Service Corps, before they became Royal at the end or just after the war.

Seen these before and still can't say why these have been done like this.

Hi Dave,

Can't add much I am afraid, but here goes.

Card 1:
Top Button = Duke of Lancasters Own Yeomanry (Kings Crown so Pre-1952-ish). They were not combined with the 40th/41st Royal Tank Regiment until 1967.

Card 2:
4th Button = Leicestershire Yeomanry (Prince Albert's Own)
5th (bottom) Button = Army Service Corps (circa 1902-1918, as they became Royal in 1918 and the button design changed)

Hope that helps. I will be interested to see if anyone can identify the button with two crowns (looks European to me) and the QVC over the letters "RACC". I did wonder if it was a club button (i.e. Royal A????? C???? Club). Unless it is RAGC - Royal A???? Golf Club? maybe.

Ignoring what the individual buttons were for, I think the 'clip' was modified later in life as some form of display attachment.
