Confirmation of my button IDs, please?
Hi guys,
I have acquired the buttons below, they came with a cap badge that I wanted. I would be very grateful if somebody could confirm their IDs for me before I list them on Ebay. They are all proper metal, brass backed buttons, not anodised. 1. Made by Gaunt London - MoD Police / MoD Fire Service / Army Fire Service 2. Made by Gaunt London - Corps of Royal Military Police 3. Made by Firmin London - Generic post WW2 fire brigades 4. Made by Buttons Ltd B'Ham - MoD Police / MoD Fire Service / Army Fire Service 5. Made by Grantham - Generic post 1952 police / prisons / fire Cheers, Phil

Hi Phil
I'd agree with all your identifications except #3, simply because I know nothing of MOD Fire Service insignia. I have a feeling #1 and #4 might also have been worn by other forces such as the Royal Parks Constabulary*, though that is just a vague recollection. *Just in case any forum members are, as a certain highly paid footballer, confused by the word 'constabulary' it does mean 'police'. Best Graham

Hi again,
The Royal Parks buttons I can find images for all have a circle on the outside 'Royal Parks Constabulary' much like the Met Police buttons. It appears that buttons 1 & 4 were also worn by the MOD and Army Fire Services Cheers, Phil
