Default Army Educational Corps cap badge

Hi folks

I have these two AEC cap badges, which appear to be different sizes, obviously different sizes and I was wondering what the reason was.

The left one measures 46mm across and 47mm high with a slider fitting.

The right one measures 43mm across and 40mm high with lugs east and west.

Might the one with the slider be a dud?
Cheers
Sean

I don't know the answer, but I too have "large" and "small" badges, both with sliders, the large one being a fairly solid piece of thicker metal than the norm.

Cool Small AEC

I have a small AEC badge which I bought from a gentlemans tailors in the 1950's, 100% original as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure about the larger version, I would like confirmation that this is correct.

The two AEC badges that I have, the larger of the two looks to be "the same" as the larger badge shown in Post no. 1.

The larger badge is about 47mm high X 45mm wide, the smaller is about 40mm X 41mm.

Maybe the smaller one is a collar badge.

Here's one I picked a couple of years back, it's more of an OSD type badge with a slider so perhaps a private purchase item, H41 x W43
