England have a bye into the Quaters (hopefully Scotland second in the Group)

Wales have the most BRUTAL group (SA, Samoa, Fiji & Namibia)...... if we can get out "alive" then we have to be serious contenders to go all the way Welsh player to watch "Scott Williams" (12: Scarlets).... Hooky will be 10, but watch for the "Scarlets backs" 9: T Noyle 10: R Priestland 12: S Williams 13: J Davies 14. G North backline...... that will be awsome with good service from the pack! (We will seriously miss "Morgan Stoddart" this would have been his stage for greater things).

I've put my bet on France to win today, got 16-1.

I don't have the same level of optimism as Griff, our press have talked up the difficulty of our group. For God's sake we should be able to beat Samoa, Fiji and Namibia on any given day although we've managed to loose to Samoa on a number of occasions and Fiji knocked us out of the last competition.

Well..... just my luck..... as the boys kick off against South Africa on Sunday I will be trundling up to Syston RFC U11s pitch.... (with the biggest pair of ear defenders I can find) to watch the next Welsh flyhalf in the making. THEN back home to watch it on playback.

If injuries don't get in the way, England could do better than the pundits are predicting. On balance, if France get their act together, they will be hard to beat. As someone who always supports the team playing the best rugby, I am ready for an entertaining tournament - I hope I'm not disappointed. David

The AB's on home turf with the biggest amount of pressure on them in the last decade will make them hard to beat. They are the No1 team in the world.

The Wallabies are the only team in the world in the last two years to have beaten a full strength AB's and they did that only two weeks ago to win the Tri Nations. They go into the tournament as 2nd favourites.

All the Kiwi supporters that I know, and that's a lot, say the team they fear the most in the WC is Oz. It's also the team they least want to win it.

I've lived in Wales for a short time in the 80's and the two most passionate countries for rugby are Wales and NZ.
Whichever way it will be a great tournament.

Default Springboks Rule!

Well I have to say that I am 100% behind the Springboks. Wales on Sunday will be tough, and it may well be the make or break for both teams. Regards Andrew

Just tackling the kids to school(s)..... will kick back and enjoy when I get back

We have a "Scarlet" in the Tongan pack....... I think NZ will put up a big score though.

Griff,
You're not alone, my son plays in the under 9's for Clwb Rygbi Ieuenctid Cymry Caerdydd and has training Sunday morning. However they are opening the club (CHSOB) up early for us to watch the game before training starts.

I'll be supporting the usual two teams, Wales and whoever plays you know who.

Pob lwc,
Kevin

Well...... good match..... i thought Tonga highlighted a few areas in the NZ game that can be exploited. NZ didnt turn up in the 2nd half! Tonga's 10 should have played a "kick over the top" to get past the tackle line ..... but not sure that would have been to their advantage.

Tonga did well to keep the score line down
