Default Royal Naval Division Chief Petty Officer's Cap Badge

Hi All

I have just bought this RND CPO's cap badge from a dealer (I paid quite a bit for it but you have to every now and then to get the things you want). I have already run the pictures by another forum member and I believe that this is a good badge so I have posted a few pictures for forum members to see what a good one looks like (or to see if anyone can cast any doubt on it). It has good honest looking wear on the high points and it is bronzed, not blackened. There is good rear definition and the blades are the same type as the 2 RND CPO's badges sold as part of the Gaunt collection earlier this year (or late last year). All comments welcome.

Paddy

Not much doubt about this one! A little worn to the high points, and fantastic patina, especially the rear. Congrats, a good find And thanks for exhibiting the yardstick......

Cheers

One of mine for reference. For information, the badge is also shown being worn by CPO's of the ROYAL NAVAL AIR SERVICE. Reference: Osprey Military. Men-at- Arms "British Air Forces 1914-18 (1) ISBN 1-84176-001-3. Page 24 "No.8 Squadron on the Somme 1916". Badge shown being worn by three CPO's.
