I have just come in possession of a bag full of cap badges and patches. I am no expert and i am having trouble IDing the patches. I think they are Royal Naval Proficiency badges.. |

RN badges
Quote:
Top Row: Firecontrolman Control Electrician (1st cl) Stiker (Engineering Mechanic) TAS (Underwater Control 3rd cl) Missleman (Seacat Aimer) Middle Row:Aircraft Handler (2nd cl) TAS Radar Plotter Aircraft Handler 92nd cl) Aircraft Handler (PO/CPO) Bottom row:Petty Officer (rank badge) Cook Sick Berth Attendant (Medical Assistant) Radio Electrical Mechanic (1st cl) Ordnance Electrical Mechanic (1st cl) Radon, depending upon the time frame the stars usually denote 3rd, 2nd, & 1st class ratings. They are usually for ratings below the rank of Petty Officer. {ie: Able Seaman, & Leading Seaman} The stars & crowns above & below the badge logo can be very confusing at times. These all appear to be from the post war 1950's period & into the 1970's. Bryan Last edited by RCN; 07-08-11 at 09:20 PM. |
