West Indies can anybody help?
Hi all,
I have in my collection two crossbelt plates, the one I would like info on is the Jamaica 1803. I would say it was genuine as it came with a Loyal Edinburgh Spearmen plate circa1800-1805. I'm not sure if the picture will come through as this is my first post. Any help would really be appreciated. Garry.

Hi Garry,
This is the crossbelt plate for the JAMAICA MILITIA. Not the West India Regiment. The pouch box had an 8 point star with the Alligator in the centre . West India Regt. had WI and crown. A nice bit. Hope this helps. Flatdog

Hi Flatdog,
Thanks for the info.Now I have something to go on.Unfortunatly the studs at the back have been replaced by loops, probably to be put on a board at one time.Still anything that old is a nice badge to have. Regards Garry.
