Images are rather small, but there is a thread on here from not long ago that should answer your question!

Best regards

My slidered version does not have any means of holding the backing either ! I'm sure I was told that this model fitted on a patch but I can not be certain ??

Hi gunner
Mine is slidered and does'nt have any fittings for a backing. The one in wilkinson's book is the same number 176.

Thanks guys I must have been barking up the wrong tree. I know for sure that some were made with a brass backing plate & assumed that they all should have one.
