Default Royal Canadian Army Cadets

Information about this badge please? Where and when worn and was it also worn by Army Cadet Force Cadets from the UK having attended a RCAC course in Canada? There are current similar but smaller RCAC badges used by the ACF.

Google is a wonderful thing, I typed in Royal Canadian Army Cadet badges and found this site. It took about 30 seconds....

Thank you so I know a little more from the "work in progerss" on Google:

i.e. post war pattern 1950-1979, bright green letters, melton cloth, 15 points to the leaf.

However, what about it being worn by UK ACF cadets?

This would most likely be worn by Cadets who have attended a summer exchange program at one of the summer camps for Cadets here, i.e. Banff.....

As both a civilian and a CIL Officer I worked at both the Whitehorse and Rocky Mountain (ex Banff) Camps.....

Default cadet badges

I attended the Banff National cadet camp back in the day, before they moved to Canmore (anyone else here also climbed Cascade Mountain?). I remember British exchange cadets wearing their own British uniforms, never wearing the RCAC badge. We were issued combats but no slip ons, the staff wore armbands but had the current issue badge with the border. The germans on exchange wore civies. That badge without the border appears to be 1950's - 1960's issue for the wool battle dress.

The town did not want the camp in Canmore but it is now just off Ghost Lake about 1/2 way between Banff and Calgary.....

I did. Summer of 1970.
In my time the Brit cadets wore their own uniform and never wore the RCAC maple leaf. We had US Civil Air Patrol cadets also and they wore a US uniform of sorts.

This is dating me, but I climbed Cascade in 1969.
There are two distinctly different red cadet leaves. One was embroidered in green, and the other with white embroidery. There is also a very scarce version en francais, reading CRAC. It obvious why these patches were not widely issued.

Check this out for bling. This Cdt/CWO was awarded every Army cadet medal short of the Cadet Medal of Bravery and has just about every qualification. His right sleeve has his CWO rank badge and the Master Cadet insignia.
As an achiever, he has gone on to an Engineering degree and served in A'stan as a Psychological Warfare tech, serving with the US Army, as a member of the GGFG.
BTW, that's my Guard's sword he is wearing.

The only way I can see a UK cadet wearing the RCAC roundel identifier is if it was on a brassard, with rank, if the UK cadet was in some sort of "staff" position.
