Default Copy Cross Belt Plate

The cross belt plate on the attachement which I have had for some considerable time is a copy ( how I wish it was not) but the thing is that this the only one I have ever come across .

You would have thought that if somebody had gone to the trouble of manufacturing something like this, they would have made at least a couple of dozen to make as much money as possible and that examples would turn up on a regular basis.

It seems therefore that there are rare copies and restrikes which may be one offs.

Has anybody else come across anything similar ?

P.B.

It may have been made purely as a museum or Collection space filler rather than a blatent rip off!Hence the scarcity!

I've got a 2nd pattern 12th London Regiment 'The Rangers' badge, excellent strong stamping but with a slider stamped Jennens & Co London. J&Co are known exclusively for officers badges up until the mid 1920's. I know of one other owner of this badge (without the stamped slider) who is also a member of this forum and have never seen another of these badges either genuine or fake.

For the record I was sold this one by a West Midlands dealer who used to work around the factories and assured me it came from a display cabinet from one of them (which I presume must have been Gaunts).

This is the first pattern with only the South Africa and no WW1 honours. This pattern is the easiest to find and yours is a very nice one. Many repros exist.
