National Sea Training School
Hi,
Can anybody give me some info on the badge shown in the picture please? Is it a cap/beret or collar? What is the NSTS? I've heard of Merchant Navy colleges like Warsash on the south coast, is this the same type of thing? Badge measures around an inch in diameter. Somebody told me it may be American? The badge is very similar to that of the Gravesend Sea School, are they one and the same? Many thanks in advance, Phil Last edited by Phil2M; 06-07-14 at 12:53 PM. |

I went to sea school at warsash were we had no uniform and instructors wore civilian cloths with the only uniform being a navy blue woolly pully with a round warsash patch (pic below) but years ago uniform was worn, with officers wearing the cap badge below. Hope its of interest Regards Tony |

Hello Tony. I have been promised a Warsash cap badge by a friend who was there decades ago. Hes in his late 60s at a guess. So I have a long wait for his will. I have been looking for one in the meantime but have had no luck so far. Its a nice badge. There was a silver nsts badge on ebay not long ago but I missed out on it.
Thanks for posting your pictures, It means I now have a much clearer idea of what im looking for. Regards Phil.

P.s. Is there a significance in there being brass and silver badges?
