Default Eagle on a blank plinth- ID?

Can you help ID this small gilt badge please? Two small loops so I am presuming an officer's collar badge.
Thanks, Charlie edit- it is die-cast.

I agree on Essex Regiment.
But I have a query, the regular battalion wore the tiny eagle but the TA wore a larger version. Does the same apply to the Officers collar as well ?

Thanks. I see there is reference to 'post 1954 version' when I google this. Is this correct for mine?
