BANDSMANS WINGS
Following on from the theme of Garter Flashes, I have just uploaded the wings I have in my collection worn by bandsman on No1 Dress, (but also some on Ceremonial or Full Drees)
Again this is an attempt to draw out of the woodwork other members examples and thoughts and make a record of known examples. I have been greatly helped by my copy of Clothing Regulations dated 1971 which lists who wore what. Most Regiments are covered. Unhelpfully of course most of my examples which are not covered in the list are dated 1957! Now this is a question I have asked before on here......does anyone have the relevant copy of Clothing Regs that covers 1957? Or can any one help identify for example who wore purple on navy......Essex Regt? who wore Lincoln Green on Navy in 1957? Cheers Sean Last edited by sapper533; 31-07-16 at 12:40 PM. |

152 (Ulster) Regiment RCT (V)
Bandsmans wings worn by 152 (U) RCT. Top blue and white dated 1957, the bands predecessors were RASC. And bottom green and white, when the pipers changed to green jackets in the 1980's.

Many thanks for that, I hadn't considered that they would have changed to Green very interesting. I have a pair of the white on blue as you can see in the album but not the White on green. If ever you see a spare pair anywhere let me know.
