The British Army and Navy 1888 - 1914 Facebook site
The other day I went on to the above facebook site and made a comment or two. About a certain type of headdress, I posted that the headdress shown in the post and was said to be a Brodrick cap. Was in fact a peak less forage cap and that the Guards didn't wear the Brodrick cap. The two types of headresss are totally different, and probably have different pattern numbers. And were issued a couple of years apart. Two different types of headdress can not be labelled under one designation. They can of course be called types of headdress, but they both can not be called a Brodrick. Anyway the person that did the post ( Toby Brayley ) was obviously that offended, he removed my comments ?! I thought to myself how spineless, what a cowardly thing to do. In this day and age. Anyway I messaged him and asked him why he did this, as it was an opinion, who on earth would remove someone else's opinion ? I said he was weak and disgraceful. He eventually messaged me back and said he had put my comments back up for all to see. And he apologised. This morning I try and go on to the site, only to find myself " Blocked "
What do members think to this ? Andy

Hi Andy,
Just count to ''one...two three...one'' Surely the focus of this FB group is to share knowledge, information, stories and photos about this period. So it is a little odd but, as I have also experienced, there's often an ulterior motive behind such groups. Best wishes, Mark |

Perhaps you telling him that he was "weak and disgraceful" didn't fill him with magnanimity?
