Default Still in a state of shock !!!!!!

I am still recovering from the shock I got when I saw what this WW2 Kings Liverpool Regiment tin hat with a transfer badge on it sold for.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WWII-BRITI...vip=true&rt=nc

I cannot remember what I paid for my example ( pictured below ) but it was a fraction of £770.

If I didn't think so before, I am now convinced that the world has gone mad.

Peter,

I think you should put yours on your lawn for a year and then sell it.

Simon,

If doing that would add over £600 to the value of my example then I am tempted.

Peter

People certainly do seem very happy to pay good money for good, early, regimental battle bowlers these days, but, that is just silly.

It is one of these private listings. The buyer may well have been lured into a bidding war.

Cool Private listings

I never trust private listings and avoid them at all cost.

Me neither, as a potential bidder, I would always look to spend elsewhere.

I was watching this and I know among helmet collectors the net and its ghost added to the attraction, but even so the price is a lot more than was expected
