Griff's collars look superb, but Bob's badge seems to be of far lesser quality! Could we see the back please, as from the front it shouts "Repro"!

Hi Griff,
There's certainly a London connection, the cap badge is larger though. I'll check through a Bosleys postal auction catalogue as I know I've seen something in there for a full descrption. Edit: Found it ! Issue 56 22nd April 2009 - Lot 96. Imperial Yeomary Cadets scare brass cap badge. Die cast crowned City of London shield resting on a scroll "I.Y.C" all superimposed on crossed lances. Slider. Near VGC. £75-£100. On their grid it looks to be about 4.5cm high. I don't have the sale price. Anyone? Last edited by Alan O; 22-09-10 at 06:20 PM. |

Hi Keith
I think Robbie @ Dead Spartan had the Cap & Collars for sale on eBay not so long ago. The Collars were as pictured above and the Cap as you have listed... Bosleys have both listed on their website at the moment ... do a search on "cadets" on Buywyze and you will find both I think David Smith or Lew Shotton have a cap badge for sale also.. David has a new website BTW (Like Geoffs and Robbies)

The link to the photos are here. Not so 'hot' but less of a problem with copyright. |

Bob,
the badge looks poorly struck to me, but having only seen the front I would not like to say 100%, just looks like a repro from the front IMO! Andy Any chance of a picture of the back? Last edited by Alan O; 22-09-10 at 06:19 PM. |

Cadets
Gentlemen. These cadet collar badges were worn by the London Diocesan Church Lads Brigade. They came in two sizes, larger for officers and smaller for lads. The LDCLB introduced them in 1915 in place of collar badges showing the arms of the London Diocese. The LDCLB had been recognised as a Cadet Force in 1911. The LDCLB was a separate brigade from the national Church Lads Brigade, although they did amalgamate in November 1919. Johnny Conn
