Default Help with photo please

Hi, this photo came with medals ,wound badge and xmas card and I believe they have always been together.the medals and WB are numbered or named to Pte .S.Newton HIGH.L.I. The soldier in the middle has Shoulder titles that look to be H L but his cap doesn't look like either of my ones I think he was 12th HLI.If anyone can help with this I would be most grateful. Thanks Roger

The cap badge looks like it is Royal Engineers and not HLI, IMO, and I would say the titles are RE aswell.

Agree with Jerry - a Royal Engineer flanked by two Jocks, the one on the left as you look at it, is possibly HLI(with trousers) and possibly the owner of the medals. The one on the right is a Cameron Highlander.
