Rain Stopped Play...
No cricket today (Aussies off the hook by the look of it!) so was filling time watching Colditz on TV. Can anyone help me identify this badge, as worn by the British Senior Officer? Sorry if the picture is poor.

Representing Queen Victoria’s Rifles. Most of the battalion captured in 1940 in the defence of Calais.
SBO played by Jack Hedley See post 8 https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=13096 Tim

Sorry for my newbie naivety, but does his badge therefore display a Victorian crown?

No. It's a post 1952 Queen Elizabeth crown; perhaps they couldn't get a King's Crown one and hoped - in those pre High Definition TV days - that people might not notice. And it certainly is Queen Victoria's Rifles as previously noted.

By the way, the wonderful Jack Hedley only passed a couple of years ago - in Vegas of all places !!! (Can you imagine Jack in LV? That's the very last place I would have imagined him ending up - what a brilliant actor!!)
