"New Metal" badges - anything definitive?
Despite my first collection being all AA ("All the signs of a good career" - if anyone remembers it?), I'm not really a lover of them nowadays.
However, my head is being turned more and more by "New Metal" badges. Is there any official information known about such badges? Which regiments are/will be made? Also, would love to know if a "All the signs of a good career" type poster exists of the modern regiments. Anyone else's head being turned by the bling? Cheer, Andy C

RE, RSIGNALS, RA, RAMC, RADC and the other corps except the RLC.
The new infantry and cavalry regts are all improved metal. |

Hi Andy
I haven't gone out of my way to obtain them but I have about a dozen. I quite like them. I have both versions of the Yorkshire Regt badge (both made by London Badge & Button Co from memory) and both are decent quality badges. I picked up Princess Of Wales's Royal Regt last weekend, another well made badge (I think that's Firmin?). The quality seems to vary between regts, the enamel work for example - good on the Yorkshire Regt badges but a bit "watery" on some of the others. Perhaps it depends on the manufacturer? David |

Army Recruitment Centre British Military Badges
Hi hope this helps the collection is faced with a 6mm thick perspex probably need to remove for better images which is easier said than done but the badges reflect that period of upheaval within our Forces believe this was in a Recruitment Centre but was told by the person I had it from that it could have come from an Air Transport Centre? That means either RAF Brize Norton ( and I was here then and never saw it at the trooping head) or RAF Lyneham? so if anyone recognise,s it or similar would appreciate the heads up hope this helps anyone trying to date your own badges!

Badges of the British Army
Here is one of the more recent MOD "posters" dated April 2009 and so pre-dates the formation of the Royal Lancers.
