Apologies for the quality of this enlargement of an original photograph however it shows Good Conduct chevrons worn on the Home Service Tunic by two Corporals and two Guardsman serving with Number 2 Company. 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards at Caterham in June 1985. will see if I still have similar photographs showing wear on Number 2 Dress.

Regards Simon.

Dress regulations state that Good Conduct chevrons are only worn by Privates and Lance Corporals, till I remembered that Guards Lance Corporals wear 2 chevrons! and corporals appointed to Lance Sergeant.

Last saw them in wear in the RAOC circa 1975 with no new entries on Part 2 orders from 1972 - A & B Trade Badges started to be phased out at about the same time but taking a little longer to disappear as they could be worn by corporals.

Makes for a very large and rich Sergeants Mess with all those Lance Sergeants wearing three chevrons too!

Simon.
