many thanks, the badge is that worn by students at Kneller Hall, I think the senior course being for student bandmasters, so I'm not certain they have officers as such? It looks like a private purchase item, perhaps for warrant officers?

I don't know British stuff but I've had this badge for some time. To me it appears that the slider was on in place of tangs, rather than tangs used, then removed and a slider put on. I'm not even sure it's even a legit badge.
