Default Duke of Cornwall's light infantry

My second cousin Reginald Hughes who was with The Duke of Cornwall's light infantry ( he was killed in Germany, 15th April 1945 aged 22 )
Here he is in his uniform

The photo is probably 1939-40 as he wears the old pattern tunic and cap that were replaced in 1939-40 but a 1938 pattern webbing belt.

I have the greatest respect for your knowledge AlanO and mean no offence, but for the sake of correctness the belt comes from 1937 pattern web equipment rather than 1938.

You are right I was thinking of the 58 pattern belt.

Yes I had thought that. In your defence it is an extremely easy and common mistake to make.
