Until an identical badge with cast iron provenance surfaces I think your badge should be given the benefit of the doubt.

That a SF collector has offered to purchase it, there is an identical one for sale in Bosleys auction and the fact that this pattern is not seen in numbers on eBay etc., are all good indicators.

I don't think you will find many SF collectors willing to categorically label it a fake.

After Bosley’s fees, VAT and mailboxes charges it works out a little north of £480 or more, if the winning bidder used the-saleroom.com.
