Default Helmet plate The Buffs

Hi

I think that this is ok? Please can anyone suggest whether this is an original helmet plate and what is its most likely period? I know that it is pre 1952 but can it be dated closer?

Many thanks
Martyn

Hi thank you

I'm a little surprised that this is a fake as it was interested from a family member who had collected badges for years. Can anyone explain why this is fake please?

Thank you

Hi,
The plate is fake, but as with the East Surrey, I can't really be sure about the centre until I see it separately.

Hello Martin,
The plate and centre are almost certainly a mis-match IMO.
