Default Decorative Cap Badges?

I recieved a email awhile ago, with pictures of CEF badges, and in it were 2 cap badges labeled as Decorative. I was wondering if anyone know anything about them. I was thinking that they are more in line with sweetheart pins than cap badges. I would really like to get the 226th Battalion badge, it would go nicely with the area I am collecting.

Look like menu holders for regimental dinners? Does the middle leg extend backwards?

I don't know if the middle leg bends backwards or not, all I have are pictures of them. I never thought of them as menu holders.

The card would fit between the ring and the badge...... the middle leg should have a small hinge so that it can extend backwards.

Quite an extravagance, in any circumstances. Do you think these are commissioned pieces or PRI style souvenirs?
