Default Rifle Brigade Cap Badge - Opinions?

This badge was in amongst a family group I recently acquired. I be most grateful to receive any observations or opinions as to a time period and / or originality.

One member of the family was commissioned into the RB in 1916, but I have no idea as to whether this was his or has been added at a later date.

Any views would be most appreciated!

Default

It looks a good quality badge albeit very dirty.

the two blades at the rear would confirm that is was worn by an officer.

No reason it shouldnt be the original from WW1.

regards
