Unusual KDG, what size is it?

The others are fine.

The KDG seems about standard size, 47,5mm high and 40mm wide. The two marks on the back are vent holes, though odd looking ones.
Cheers,
Alex

I have seen them with those shape and positioned braze holes before, however, with a slider if I recall correctly.

The KDG is original but the loops are replacements. I did wonder about an NCO's arm badge conversion?

Is the 20th Hussars a repro with the X-0-X horozontial bars being of uneven height with the right hand one thinner than the left?

I believe Alan is right re the KDG, you can just make out the braze where the slider was. That there is no scar from the slider suggests a factory conversion.

Alan - if you mean in regards to the common MM fake it’s not one of those. The crown and jewels are very different to the MM (attached). It’s general appearance and the slider make me think it’s a WW1 produced badge.

Alex, yes, I think just from the photographs, they are okay, although perhaps not the best examples ever made, but, I do particularly like the KDG.

Thanks for the info, that is great news. I will probably be moving it on at some stage.

Here is an example of an unaltered slidered badge with the half moon shaped braze holes I mentioned in post #5 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1st-Kings...8AAOSwz5peVROS
