Default WW1 Indian Army Remount Department - GAUNT

A very crisp example of an officers silver plated cap badge to The Army Remount Department - with GAUNT LONDON stamped on the rear. £30 plus £2.50 P&P

Were these made in the UK by Gaunt as the stamp suggests? I ask purely out of interest as the reverse, thickness and finish looks more akin to a sand cast theatre made example.

Iíve always thought the Indian Army Remounts a very attractive badge.

Hi Luke - simple answer is I don't know . There is another example being sold on Regimental Badges ( part of the Bosley's group ) and the construction looks very similar - albeit he's asking £75 !

Thanks Tim. I always find makers and differences in manufacture of Indian Army badges very interesting amongst officers badges.

Good ole Bosley’s, sounds almost cheap by their standards!
