Gun Badges.
Hi All,
I am thinking that these two badges are probably okay, and wouldn't be bad additions to my miniscule gun badge collection. They're both quite cheap, which does bother me a bit, what do you think? |

Both look fine to me. The one with lugs and slider is a smaller, post war beret badge.

Like Paul says, but don’t pay more than a fiver each. Regards

Yes, many thanks, chaps, they are about that, Simon, free postage, as well, I don't intend to bid any more for them. I do look at quite a few, should I say, more upmarket, gun badges, but I'm rather unsure what I ought to pay for these. I'll attach a couple of pics of one badge that I've looked at recently, should I pay £35 for this?

Oh Dear! I won't be getting that one then, it was stated to be gilding metal, and, I take it, worth £35! I'm just trying to get a feel for the market prices of these things.

Chris,
I think you had a lucky escape. No way is it worth £35, thats well over the top. Sorry Leigh, I know you payed that. I have an identical one and you can have it for £25. Please drop me a PM. regards

Seemed a reasonable price to me, I particularly wanted one, the last I saw being offered on the forum at £45.

Ah, well, value like beauty can often be in the eye of the beholder. I've just imported a Suffolk badge from the US, and most forum members probably wouldn't want this particular badge as a gift!

It is, tends to be easy to identify.

The badge shown in post no. 1.
The badge on an Edwardian era RA forage cap, the cap bears a clear "ghost" outline of the badge with lugs located at the ends of the "UBIQUE" scroll although the single button is a Victorian crown GS one. I'll get around to removing the gold paint "upgrade" to the peak. |
