Why on earth is this badge worth £500? And is this £155 Sharp Shooters badge genuine in white metal, I always thought it should be brass? Denis

The luck of auction. Clearly two (or more) bidders wanted it very badly indeed.

Sharpshooters Imperial Yeomanry was entirely spurious from what I could see.

W&B is pretty hard to find and I didn't hesitate at about just over £100 as it was the only one I can remember seeing, but like everything you'd like to have how much is too much if you may not get another chance.
