Has any one seen an example of the badge shown in the first image?

(the second image shows the source document)

Hi John, that's an interesting badge, it appears to be an Essex brass collar on a purple felt disc.
in Robin Hodges book he has a photo of the standard eagle arm badge in cloth on a dark blue back ground, with along side it an eagle arm badge in cloth on a purple background. (page 138) And it is titled new arm badge, so post 2005.

I have not found one of these as of yet, and trying to buy one online has its issues because the photos look the right colour, but there not purple when you get them.

All the best Andrew.

Hi Andrew

The 'new' badge does indeed have a much smaller eagle in relation to the backing disc - If I come across one, I'll PM you.......

Kind regards

John
