I have a desert shirt for 1st Bn Green Howards it has the TRF but also a bit of Velcro below this in the shape of a U.S. Army brigade anyone know what its for its the wrong shape for ISAF.

I don't think that the shape or size of the Velcro patch has anything to do with the shape and size of the formation patch that was worn on it. It is simply a velcro patch to which a Velcro backed formation badge can be stuck.

There are a number of addition badges that could be worn. An image in your posts would be handy in offering an answer.
