Bronze Parachute Regiment badges?
Peter Taylor states in his Allied Special Forces Insignia book that there were bronze and chocolate brown plastic Parachute Regiment badges (p. 115).
Has anyone ever seen those? Rgds, fougasse1940 |

no but in an article in the MHS Bulletin Jake Whitehouse a former member of 3rd Bn Parachute Regt (1946) says
".........all the cap badges I saw in my time had lugs not sliders..........most officers worn the OR`s version, but mine was a more solid affair, obviously intended for an officer. My batman got it for me.I didnt ask how or where. The Bn second in command had a posh one made in bullion, I have never seen another, and it will provide a nice problem for some collector one day" P.B.

I concur with Peter's observation - I had a bronze (not brown) plastic version some years ago. I don't have it any more - unfortunately... david |

Fougasse,
Re the article mentioning the bullion para badge, the article first appeared in the Branch Circular of the MHS West Midlands Branch in February 1988 and the article appeared in the actual MHS Bulletin almost 20 years later in Vol.57 Number 228 of May 2007 ( although in the actual Bulletin the article is considerably smaller with no reference to badges ) P.B. The Bulletin article is immediately after a most interesting article on Rare PT Glengarry Badges by a certain GF McWilliam
