New album AASC and RACT
Just put together my second attempt at creating an album.
I tried hard to post the pictures in the correct order did not succeed. Is it possible to change the order with starting again from the beginning? |

There was also a direction issued by AHQ in the early 1930s that the unauthorised wearing of metal shoulder titles by the CMF was to cease as there were coloured puggarees, etc, on issue. I will keep digging for that photograph, one of a number of family photographs of the AASC in Victoria and NSW that were donated by the officer's family. Keith |

Wow!!!
A great album, such a difficult & rare Corps to collect too. I shall have to look closely at my AASC items. Thank you so much for showing us. Regards Ken (The Fatboy)

My bad, it was a straight ASC title being worn in 1930.
Attached photo, plus photo of my titles when I had them that shows a pair of curved ASC titles, Stokes if I recall correctly. Keith |

I have always thought that a number of 1930-42 badges were probably worn with some kind of coloured backing but have seen very little actual proof.
I don't have the Album AASC badge with the backing, just put the picture in my files years ago, possibly from Ebay. My pictured backing looks better made than yours, which could have been made up by someone who was not sure which order to put the two colours. |

I can only go on Artillery because that's all I collect and research but can assure you that a coloured (red or scarlet) backing was worn to RAA cap badges by the Militia (not necessarily all units or personnel but SA that I've seen) and a patch was worn behind the collar badge by some units (WA and Tas that I know of). Interesting observation. Out of interest which colour would take precedence over the other and why? I have seen artillery badges hat and in particular collars with the red backing but that’s only a single colour. So should the AASC be white on blue or blue on white? BC |
