Default Did these CCF Badges come in A/A?

Hi Guys,

With A/A CCF badges being my Bete Noire at the moment I need some help from the forum. The following cap badges have been recorded in various non official documentation as being manufactured in anodised aluminium. Can members confirm if this was so and more importantly post any images that they may have.

AAP02 – Barnard Castle School CCF, Durham
AAP12 – Maidstone School OTC, Kent
AAP14 – Mercers School CCF, City of London
AAP16 – Mill Hill School CCF, London
AAP19 – Oundle School, Peterborough
AAP20 – Perse School CCF, Cambridge
AAP25 – St. Benedict's School CCF, Ealing
AAP27 – St. Edmund's College CCF, Ware
AAP29 – St. Lawrence College OTC, Ramsgate
AAP36 – Winchester College

Note that some badges may look like A/A but could be made of another similar material.

I have a badge, on which there is a scroll, "St Edmund's School OTC"

Could this perhaps be the same as yr "AAP27 – St. Edmund's College CCF, Ware"?

Am not at home for the next few months, so no images available right now.

Hi
Mill Hill School issued a plain yellow brass badge up until the late 1970's and then started to issue the staybrite version. The fixing was by 2 side by side lugs on both badges. The lugs on the AA badges were of the same metal and crushed easily.
I do not have permission to upload images onto this site. But I do hold both versions of the badge.
best wishes

Hi Five Queens and welcome to the forum.

Yes, have managed to find a Mill Hill School CCF, London badge for photographing - need one for my collection though.

Hi there,

Just saw this on looking up my CCF. I'm in St Lawrence College CCF and we still issue the same cap badge to this day. It's two serpents heads making an oval with their necks surmounting a wreath saying 'In Bono Vince' the school motto, on a khaki beret. It's annodised and the army section are proud to wear it! I'm in the RAF section and we get skye blue on blue 'St Lawrence College CCF' name tapes on our brassards, but we wear the Airman's capbadge of the RAF.

Hi Siegfriedline,

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.

Any chance of some good images of the badge both obverse and reverse?

I'd be keen to see the loops/slider too.

Regards

Chris
