Default Medal Card Help?

Hi Chaps,

A good friend of mine is researching some family medals. He has a medal card but would like some assistance with the abbreviations and details circled.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Roy

Roy,

Class Z is when he was demobilised and transferred to the Army Reserve on 7th May 1919. There were several categories, Z being the most common for fit men. You can google Class Z of the Army Reserve for fuller description.

The others mean a duplicate set of medals were issued in error, returned and the correct ones re issued in 1921.

regards

The zeros, crosses, dots arrangements were used to indicate which variation of number, rank and unit were to be impressed on which medal.
