Default Canada Merchant Navy

What timeframe would this Canada Merchant Navy patch be from...from an old collection, and previously ffrom a museum...WWI, or...?

Default Canada Merchant Navy

It's hard to tell the size of the badge from the picture but it looks very much like a blazer badge. Similar blazer badges are worn by former members of the Merchant Navy here.

It is probably post-WWII. It certainly won't be WWI as at that time the Merchant Navy was known as the Merchant Marine. King George V granted the Merchant Marine the title 'Merchant Navy' after the First World War in recognition of its wartime service.
