Default They Shall Grow Not Old - Film

"They Shall Grow Not Old" is a new colourised film about WW1. No doubt made to mark the 100th Anniversary of the end of the war.

The clips shown here seem very good:

Some of Peter Jackson's comments are a bit "off", but he is a film maker, not a historian,

There is also a two-part WW1 drama documentary called "100 Days to Victory". Part 1 will be on BBC TWO at 20:00 tomorrow Thursday 25th October:

"This two-part drama documentary tells the epic story of the end of World War One - and the invention of modern warfare. Artillery, tanks, aircraft and infantry were combined for the first time. But the new machines were dangerous for the crews inside."

Thanks for the reminder. I had it down to watch but had not set the recorder yet. Now done.

Most impressed by this film.

If you can watch it on a big screen TV rather than a PC monitor all the better.
Get ready for that moment about 26 minutes it when it all becomes 'real'

Agreed. If looks really good on the big screen.

That's a shame.

I wonder what happened to German equivalent film shot during the war? destroyed in WW2? Never seen any that I remember.

A VPN is your friend

I found a copy on youtube as well (but it didn't last long on there before the copyright nazis took it down).
